If you fancy some French wine and fine food, you should consider the region of Pays de la Loire in central France. You may even find a good deal, and really hope you enjoy this fact-filled wine education tour in which we review a wine Sancerre rouge based on Pinot noir from the eastern part of the Loire Valley.
The Loire is the France's longest river. French wine eleven regions vineyards of the Loire Valley ranks third in the total area of vineyards. It is divided into four regions range from west to east: Nantais, Anjou-Saumur Touraine, and vineyards Center, home of the wine reviewed below. Major white grape of the region is Sauvignon Blanc and red grape is Pinot Major Black.
Sancerre is a medieval hill town in less than two thousand inhabitants. The city name is synonymous with white wine. The city may have hosted a temple dedicated to Julius Caesar. Sancerre is proud to have pushed back twice by the British during the Hundred Years War and had been a center regional command for the French Resistance in World War II. Sights include the sixteenth century belfry tower of Saint John, Tower of Strongholds, the remains of a castle built in the late fourteenth century, and the house wine exhibition dating from the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries. You filled the streets and medieval gastronomy and wine.
Before examining the Loire wines and imported cheeses that we had the chance purchase a local wine store and a local Italian food store, here are some suggestions of what to eat with indigenous wines when touring this beautiful region. Start with salad of partridge Roti (Roast Partridge salad). For your second course savor Pot au Feu of tin (Duckling stew). And as dessert indulge yourself with a crepe with Grand Marnier (Grand Marnier crepe).

Wine Reviewed Fournier Sancerre Rouge 2003 12.5% alcohol about $ 24
Let's start by quoting material marketing. Red Sancerre is made exclusively from Pinot Black. These wines are rarely seen in our market, because much of them enjoy locally. In the Loire red wines need a consistent, warm growing season for maturity. In 2003, with the heat wave across European Fournier was able to do this. The wine exhibits classic Pinot flavors and aromas of underbrush gay, and beets. The producer recommends serving this wine slightly chilled, with the bouillabaisse. And now for my review.
My first meal of beef stew and potatoes with a little chili Tunisia sauce and spicy Moroccan carrots. The wine was earthy and powerful little taste of black cherries and tobacco. This Pinot Black had no difficulty in deal with the spicy meat.
The second meal was an Atlantic salmon marinated in a commercial-style Italian grill sauce. The fish was accompanied by potatoes cooked in chicken fat. The wine is round and earthy, and relatively long. There were some aftertaste.
The final pairing involved bought a chicken breast on the barbecue once potatoes roasted in chicken fat and caponata, the eggplant in Italian with tomatoes, garlic and olives. Somewhat surprisingly, the wine was Plummy. The combination was excellent, highlighting the fruit in the wine.
Some something happened and I could not enjoy this wine with cheese. May as you probably know, I am not often happy with everything and wine pairings cheese. In any case, my apologies, and at least for now, I plan to return to wine and cheese tasting.
Final verdict. I think the wine was overvalued. To my way of thinking about wine prices in the mid-twenties he was more excellent than once in three tastings. I definitely will not buy it again just to try the wine and cheese pairings. And it is simply impossible to obtain authentic bouillabaisse so far from Marseilles.
